  P. Hore Synnott Pedigree (1913), page 13: Jane is noted as the daughter of Thos Gilson Esq. of Wood Lodge, Co Lincoln and as the wife of Marcus Synnot of Ballymoyer J.P. Jane's surname is given variously as Gibson, Gilson and Gillson. The most likely is Gillson as in her marriage notice in the Stamford Mercury. The notice also says that Jane was the niece of George Parker Esq., of Edenham. The links between Parker, Thorpe, Gillson, Forbes, Smith and other related names is yet to be fully established. The Cork Examiner (Cork, Ireland), of Mon 12 Nov, 1860 reported at page 4: 'Mrs and the Misses Synnot have left Ballymoyer, for St Ann's Hill, Blarney, Cork.' The Misses Synnot were 2 or 3 of the unmarried Synnot daughters in 1856 - Mary Marcia, Barbara Cecilia and Juliana Hewitt. The Griffiths Valuation notes that, in 1864, after her husband Marcus had died, Jane was the occupier of 114 acres in Ballintate, Ballymyr Parish, and also owned a dilapidated house there.
