Sir Thomas Masterson, Seneschal of County Wexford, is noted in Burke's General Armory of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales (1884) as being the second son of Thomas Masterson Esq. of Nantwich. He was knighted in 1588.
His eldest son was Sir Richard Masterson of Ferns. There were male descendants from his second son, Masterson of Moneyseed and Castletown, County Wexford, still alive in 1884.
