Notes |
There are about 30 entries for the name "Hall" in County Longford in the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-1836). All but 8 of these are in the parish of Kilcommock, indicating that there was a concentration of Halls in Kilcommock, where the Haddocks were also to be found. There are no entries for Annie, either as a Hall or a Haddock.
Thre are about 30 entries for Hall in County Longford in the Griffiths Valuation Index (1847-1864). These warrant further investigation e.g.
Anne Hall at Island (probably Mosstown Island) house & garden, 20 perches lessor Hon. L.H.K. Harmon;
John Hall, Keenagh, land 20 perches and 4 acres 1 rood 4 perches, lessor Hon. L.H.K. Harmon;
John Hall, Town of Keenagh, land, off, yard & garden 35 perches, lessor Hon. L.H.K. Harmon;
In the parish of Kilmakinlan:
John Hall jun, house, offices & land 13 acres 2 roods 35 perches, lessor John Hall sen.
Bridget Urico, house (no area), lessor John Hall jun.
Charles Hall, land 10 acres 1 rood 2 perches, lessor John Hall sen.
We could speculate that Anne Hall was the mother of Annie, and had remained at Mosstown while her husband John (John sen) had become senile and had moved to Keenagh, leasing his land at Kilmakinlan to sons John and Charles - brothers of Annie.
