  • Notes

    • P. Hore Synnott Pedigree (1913), page 16:
'Eva Charlotte = Capt Corbet Smith
      md. 22 Jan 1875'.

Burke's Irish Family Records (1976) and P. Hore Synnott Pedigree (1913)both give the marriage date for Eva Charlotte Synnot and Capt. Corbet Smith as 22 Jan 1875, and this is used in the family tree.
However, the date is not clear of doubt:
Lloyd's Weekly Newspaper (London, England), Sunday, January 31, 1875; Issue 1680
‘Married 21 Jan 1875 Ballymoyer Church, Armagh. Corbet Smith, late Captain Royal Dragoons, to Eva Charlotte, 3rd daughter of Mark Seton Synnot, of Ballymoyer.’

Eva Charlotte married Captain Corbet Smith of the First Royal Dragoons in 1875.

An entry on rootschat on 27 Jun 2009 gives us an unsourced quote:
"Copy of the Settlement made on the marriage of Captain Corbet Smith of Bitteswell Hall, Leics., a Captain in the 1st Regiment of Dragoons, with Eva Charlotte Synnot, daughter of Mark Seton Synnot the elder of Ballymoyer, Armagh, Ireland. From the profits of the sale of the Manor of Lilburne, Northants., and certain premises and lands in Lilbourne and Walcote, Leics., various sums of money are to be settled on Corbet and Eva and their children. (In 1911 their daughter Ada Emily Corbet married Henry Allesley Ward-Boughton-Leigh.) CR162/541 20th Jan. 1875"
