    • Margaret made her last will and testament, and a codicil to the will, on 1 May 1878. She died on 24 May, and probate was granted on 21 Jun 1878 to the sole executor, Mark Seton Synnot of Ballymoyer, Co. armagh, whom Margaret described as her 'kind friend'
      The will, codicil and probate:
      'In the Name of God Amen I Margaret Houston Spinster of Lisnacree Barony of Mourn, County Down, Ireland being of sound mind write this my last Will and Testament. I give and bequeath to my dear Charles Forbes Goodhart Synnot my nephew my two shares of the townland of Lisancree one share bringing £25 some shillings the other share about £24 some shillings in all about £50 for his use and that of his wife and children. Should any money remain in my name in the Belfast Banking Company Kilkeel, I request the sum whatever it may be shall be forwarded to my nephew Francis Trappes, Bannockburn Oyster Cove, Tasmania. I request my kind friend Seton Synnot Esq. Ballymoyer Co. Armagh Ireland will see this my will executed. May 1st, 1898.

      Signed sealed and declared by the said Testator Margaret Houston as and for her last Will and Testament in our presence and us in her presence and at her request and in presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.

      I Margaret Houston write this codicil to my will. I leave the school house I built in Tamlough Church Yard to Thomas Kenmore in trust for my nephew Charles Forbes Goodhart Synnot till he (the said Charles Synnot) returns here in order to prevent its ever being given in any way under the contract of the National Board it being only lent for the use of the School and if at any time the said National board attempts to interfere with the Sunday Lecture or any meeting held for the instruction of the people, Thomas Kenmore shall close the door against the teacher and children and preserve the house for the said Charles Synnot. I desire that the sum of £6 a year be given to the said Thomas Kenmore to pay the Lecturer, fire, light any other expenses until the said Charles Synnot return to this country. To this will and codicil I put my hand and seal May 1st 1878.
