  The National Library of Ireland Catholic Parish Register for Loughgilly, County Armagh has an entry for the baptism of Cat, illegitimate daughter of Walter Synnott and Mary Morgan was baptised. The sponsors were E**** McParlan and Nelly Sorley. Cat's father was most likely Walter (born 1807), son of Capt. Walter Synnot and Catherine Margaret Smith, as the child could have been named after Walter's mother. the other possibility is Walter (born 1809), son of Marcus and Martha Synnot of Ballymoyer.
