  • Notes

    • William Talbot held the office of Mayor of Wexford in 1630.

According to Mary Elizabeth Sinnott in Annals of the Sinnott, Rogers, Coffin, Corlies, Reeves, Bodine and Allied Families (1905), the chart for Stephen Synnot of Ballytrant, Joan Synnot and William Talbot married in 1636. This cannot be correct, as William died in Nov 1634 (Journal of the Association for the Preservation of the Memorials of the Dead in Ireland, Vol. 8 No. 3: funeral entries page [203]).

The accuracy of William's 1634 death entry was verified by Nicholas Sinotte, brother of Wiliam's wife Joan, in these words:

'The truith of the premsss is testd by Subscriptn of Nicholas Sinotte, Brothr of the Said Joan, who returnd this Certifficate to be recordd in the office of Ulster King of Arms June the 11th 1636.
      [signed] Nicholas Synnotte'

This indicates that Nicholas was alive in 1636.
